Early Childhood Teacher and Play Therapist

Elysia has been working in the field of Early Childhood Education since 2001 when she completed her Certificate III in Children's Services. She continued to further her studies in Early Childhood Education completing her Diploma and then her Bachelor of Early Childhood Education in 2007 at Melbourne University.
She has worked in various roles over the years in long day care services and sessional kindergartens where she supported the development of the transition to school program with the local primary school and developed the service's regular bush kinder program as nature play is an important aspect to her work.
She has always enjoyed her work with children who are struggling whether due to disability, developmental delays or trauma but felt she could not give these children as much attention or support as she would have liked within the classroom environment. This lead to her undertaking her Masters in Child Play Therapy at Deakin University which she completed in 2021 so that she can now offer these children and their families the individual time and attention that they need and deserve.
